this album is straight ruling me right now. Seriously the best "IDM" album in a long time.
Thanks to Le Barb for sending me the CD!

soundtrack to a game:
the katamarii damacy soundtrack.
its a video game ive only played once with genius quirkiness on all levels. this soundtrack has tracks of all different kinds of genres using a main melodic theme, or lyrics referring to the plot of the game. from a fugue, to jazzy lounge, to the usual japanese pop tune, to a brazilian samba with whistles and all. the best part has to be in the beginning of the theme song with self-referential vocal scatting of the beat before it even comes in. sounds like tabla syllables.

soundtrack to my past month:
squarepusher - go plastic (album)

Speaking of good music, I just got my tickets to go see Pinback down here in SD on the 25th.

Is anyone else going to the show?

These are getting huge listening poriority in my mental sphere as it applies to music appreciation(which has developed into a absurdly massive psycho-muscle out of proportion to everything else in my consciousness).

Sleepytime Gorilla Museum - The Museum of Natural History
Secret Chiefs 3 - Book M, and Book of Horizons
Prefuse 73 - Assorted Mp3s
Ravi Shankar - Assorted

And someone that epitomizes the true human potential at the highest level of compositional supremacy combined with a charismatic showmanship and socially satirical side that would put John Cleese to shame, enter Sir FRANK ZAPPA TO THE PLAYLIST. Guitar

*outrageous applause* Deep respect Deep respect
