Great idea, Marc.
Everyone should treat their ears to squarepusher - do you know squarepusher

I just discovered someone last night that had me kicking and screaming, literally.
Now I have a place to post about it. I will put a playlist together soon but for now...

While listening to Frisky Radio this came on:
>>Osamu M - OsamuM-Live@club Yellow,Japan 12thaugust2004 pt1 and pt2

It's been a long time since a DJ set really kicked my ass and this shizzle is deep and clubby.
The beats was slammin' and the bass was rippin' and there was no not dancing. I've been in
a not-so-much music phase for about a year and I think that's over now.

OK that's a tough one...
I'll probably have to revise this but here goes:
1. What Deaner Was Talkin' About - Chocolate and Cheese
2. Flutes of The Chi - White Pepper
3. The Blarney Stone - The Mollusk
4. Hey There Fancy Pants - Quebec
5. The Mollusk- The Mollusk
Ha ha!

Yeah the Neutral Milk album is so fine.... Brings a tear to my eye.
The only girl I've ever loved
Was born with roses in her eyes
But then they buried her alive
One evening 1945
With just her sister at her side
And only weeks before the guns
All came and rained on everyone
Now she's a little boy in Spain
Playing pianos filled with flames
On empty rings around the sun
All sing to say my dream has come

I went through a really big WEEN phase a few months ago.

It always surprises me how they can take the pop idiom, sound on the verge of complete canned commercially shaped audio, then somehow insert a lyric or a tone of voice that makes the entire debacle impossible not to laugh with and love. Then combine this with their weird experimentational bits, and you can throw boredom right out the window.

Has anyone heard Z-Rock Hawaii, the collaboration between Ween and the Boredoms??
Check it out.

As for my playlist:
Captain Beefhear and his Magic Band- Trout Mask Replica and Lick My Decals Off Baby (you can listen to these a million billion times and still hear different rhythms and feel. lightyears ahead of its time)
John Zorn - Basically everything by this composer
Frank Zappa - We're Only In It For The Money
Aphex Twin - assorted
Danny Elfman film scores
Secret Chiefs 3 - Book Of Horizons
and the accumulated adventures of Runitmoo, Zanventures, my own compositional work.

I emplore everyone to get ahold of the new Secret Chiefs 3 disc Book of Horizons. It blew my scalp skin right off. How they can combine Bollywood movie scores, middle eastern cathartic dance rhythms, death metal, East Indian pop forms, jazz, industrial guitar riffing, and advanced techno wizardry is beyond me.

I've heard a little bit of Z-rock hawaii, but I didn't know it was a collab with the boredoms. I like the boredoms... I saw them with Aphex and Merzbow a couple of years ago and they completely kinged the show.
